EXCELLENTVerified We used Quantum Moving for our local move this past weekend and they delivered an amazing experience from start to finish! I have already personally recommended them to all of our friends, and will continue to recommend them to anyone planning a move! Ahead of our move, Stephen worked with us to prepare a detailed quote. He was quick, super-responsive, and gave us all the tips we needed to be prepared for our move. Of the 5 places I had contacted, it was the lowest quote, both per-hourly and the total "not-to-exceed" value. On moving day we had Danny and his crew and they were exceptional!!! Just like Stephen, they were super polite and professional. And better yet, they were super fast! We couldn't believe it. This was our first time hiring movers and we fully expected them to take their time and run up the hourly charge, but not Danny and his crew! They moved our fully furnished two-bedroom apartment in 5 hours, including a 30 minute drive. AND they took great care of our stuff. Every piece of furniture was carefully wrapped and packed into the truck. Not a single thing was damaged or missing. And they made sure everything was situated how we wanted in our new place before they left. Seriously, this was the best money I've every spent and best service I've received in any industry. We first used them moving from Sacramento to Pleasant Hill and then again 2 years later for a move to Martinez when we bought our home. Both times, they were so communicative and responsive and had very competitive pricing. The day of the moves, the teams showed up on time and really hustled to get everything loaded and finished faster than the originally quoted time frame. They took great care of our belongings and nothing was broken or scratched in the process. Highly recommend having them pack up your kitchen. Saved us hours of having to wrap glassware and they packaged everything so securely and gave us so much peace of mind. He wanted to do video call to see the item needed to be moved. I was out of the house and told him will call back once I'm at home. He gave his direct number. Call went straight to voicemail. Called back the 1-800 number, he answered and said he is with another customer service and will call back but never did. I sent him a text message. He responded and said he can do the estimate in the afternoon around 3ish. I asked if sending videos and pictures would work. He replied, "Yeah that would help." Sent all the videos and pictures with all the information - bedrooms and items. But NEVER GOT A RESPONSE OR A CALLBACK!!! I called a different company. We're a family of 4 and honestly weren't sure what to expect. Dan was great to work with - he did a video walkthrough of our place to give us estimates for packing and moving. Really appreciated that he broke down the costs separately and was straight up about how much stuff we actually had (more than we thought!). We originally planned to pack ourselves but quickly realized we were in over our heads. Dan was super flexible and got his packing crew out to us on short notice, which saved us big time. The actual moving day went really smoothly. The packing team knocked out our whole house in about 3 hours, then the moving crew loaded everything up and got it to our new place in about 5 hours total. These guys work hard and know what they're doing. They showed up when they said they would, took care of our stuff and made the whole process way less stressful than I expected. They are hard-working, efficient, thoughtful and just all-around nice people. Everything was wrapped very carefully, things were disassembled and assembled very efficiently, all the boxes were labeled very clearly which makes for easy and smooth unpacking, prices were very reasonable and there was no hidden cost. These guys clearly put a lot of thought and care into what they do - they remember the layout of my old apartment so that things were put thoughtfully into their new place in the new place without much supervision, and the way they packed our boxes made a lot of logical sense. Throughout the move they also kept a smiling face, and were extremely polite and diligent. I just loved having them around! In the past I've worked with so many moving companies where I felt like I was getting scammed somehow, but not with Quantum. They made everything feel so easy. Thank you!Posted onVerified Updating my review: Used Quantum again recently for a local move, and while things were OK, it was not nearly as great as my 1st time last year. I think the experience varies depending on the team you get, and I wish I requested the same team. Because I used them before, it was easy to request this move and get an estimated quote, which was between X and Y. Things were great until the team arrived day of. First, I was given paperwork to sign. I asked to confirm the quote, and the number he gave me was $325 more than Y. I was surprised, but what can I do? I'm all packed up to move already and have a 7 month old in hand to take care of while moving.... After all was done, the final price ended up being $100 more than Y (ie less than what the day-of number was but still more than my original). I've only ever used movers for long-distance moves in the past, so not sure if this is the norm for local moves, but they charged by the hour, and I felt like I was being nickel and dimed. They billed for every 15 mins and also billed me $30 to pack the TV, whereas last time, they did all that for free. Second, when he arrived and saw that I had a few small items (2 kitchen floor mats, 1 front door mat, 5 small trash cans, 1 large kitchen trash can) that weren't in boxes, he told me he would sell me boxes to put them into. I told him last time I used Quantum, they put all those things into wardrobe boxes. Actually, last year, I didn't even ask, and they told me they'd take care of it (I initially thought I'd throw them in the car). After I asked if he could just put them into wardrobe boxes, he obliged, but after putting everything into the truck, I still noticed they left things behind: 3 small trash cans, the front door mat. Again, while taking care of baby, my hands were tied. I didn't bother asking if they could please take those too bc I felt like I was having to request every tiny thing, and honestly didn't want to piss anyone off because my priority was completing the move and to minimize any damage to our stuff. I ended up having to leave those behind and have my husband make a trip out to pick them up later after work. I haven't fully unpacked but the furniture seems undamaged, and the kitchen box items are not broken. All in all, I still felt like they did a good job, but it was just not nearly as great as before. Last time, I didn't feel stressed, but this time... all the above caused a lot of stress on top of an already stressful time.
